Being Selfish, or Was I Slighted?

I'm currently eating a piece of my birthday cake from the office.  It's a slightly-burned home-made angel food cake.  There's even a Food Lion tub of frozen strawberries to have with it.  Great, right?  Except that for everyone else's birthdays, both years that I've been here, everyone else has gotten a gourmet cake from a local bakery:
