Under the textbox where you type in your journal entry it says "(HTML okay; by default, new lines will be auto-formatted to - or, use the rich text mode.)" click on "rich text" (it should be a link) then wait. now above your text box buttons should appear. if you hover over the second box from the left on the top row, it should say "lj cut". now that the box pops up, type in what you want (like "pictures") and press "ok" now there should be a gray box in your text area that says, "type your cut content here" erase that text and then to post pictures click on the little button to the right of the "size" menu (looks like a little landscape) then post the image url where it says url and press ok. do this for all of your images. any additional text you want to add to your journal entry that you want to appear in the entry and not in the cut, type out of the gray box.
