I didn't officially meet him though, he signed my book, he was on the way out really quick. I would have liked to sit down with him for two hours and just talk. He would be a really super cool person to sit down and talk with. He's on my list. But I was close to him a lot, that counts ;)

What an amazing speaker.

If I met Al Franken I wouldn't be thinking politics, I'd be like "Hey, it's Stuart Smalley! ;-)

I'm glad you had such an awesome time. :-)

I feel very stupid saying this, but I don't know who Al Franken is! *hides* All I keep picturing in my head is Al Sharpton, but I know that's not it. :P

He was a writer for SNL and then was on camera sometimes as Stuart Smalley, the affirmations guy. He started Air America Radio, which is an all liberal amazing resource. He has written several books, a google search would surely trigger your memory. You should definitely pick up Lies and The Lying Liars Who Tell Them, it's a must read.

Ahh ok, I've heard of him now. I had no idea he was such a political influence, to me he was always the SNL guy, haha. I'll keep a lookout for that book - I've been wanting to read something political for a while.
