Not dead yet (though TV is tempting me to end its life)

Sorry to all my LJ friends; I have been down the Rabbit Hole and through the looking glass that is Twitter. That, and a bit more work last month had me fairly tied for time to pop over. Kept thinking I needed to carve out quite the space since I wanted to catch up on EVERYTHING ( Read more... )

Understood on the big thing.

(Now with 42% more annoyance!)

Though I've gotten over it already.

Now I'm just waiting to see how long the old one sits in the corner.

Hubby got a bonus at work yesterday that will pay for his, so it's all good, I guess...though still a bit mystifying. Sorry you're having my Monday today on Friday. That's just wrong.

LPFF!!! *GLOMP*

Missed you! Waaaah!!!

I am happily free of mega-TVs. I plan to spend the weekend writing fic and enjoying the absence of oversized TVs in my home. I have a chapter I'm almost desperate to finish.

Yeah...I know you figured it out, but LPFF's significant other and mine both bought new TVs on Feb 1. Completely unrelated and bizarre, but they both got the bug (and there were Super Bowl sales, you know!) and they both broke down and did it.

Neither of us are too pleased by this.

Yes, I had indeed guessed that. The damned papers have been glutted with ads for monster TVs -- I can sympathise with the retailers who are desperately trying to beef up their sales. But still.

I don't even use a flat-panel computer monitor at home; I read up on how much more electricity they need, and decided to stick with my old CRT.

I have a flat monitor that is about 1.5 yrs old (got it when I got GeeBee), and I will admit that I love it, but it's plenty for me. I think it's, oh, big. (Like 17" or something. Plenty big enough.) Our new TV is 40" which I'll grant you isn't ginormous by some standards, but there was nothing wrong with our old one...I don't get that.
