Oh, LJ, please get well soon

So, it seems oodles of Kiwi LJers are having problems with pageloading on LJ at the moment -- pages are loading slowly and with no style formatting (it's all just bare-bones html), some won't load at all (such as the post preview window, I've discovered) and userpics have all disappeared (oh noes!). I couldn't see that icon before because it was the l-stat and l-userpic parts of the site that were worst affected... but I can now because it's fixed - as of about 5 minutes ago. YAY.

There was a routing problem between several NZ ISPs (including mine) and a third-party company which delivers LJ content around the world.

So glad LJ's back. *dances*

What an annoying situation! Spock-bashes-computer icon is indeed perfect for this. *waves fist at LJ* Hope they get it fixed soon.

It's fixed now - as of a few minutes ago. YAYAYAY.

It seems there was a breakdown in communication somewhere between a third-party company which delivers LJ content around the world and several NZ ISPs.

Now, if this had been fixed before I spent 6-7 hours compiling the trek_news newsletter I would've been ecstatic... but I'm happy enough just to have LJ back the way it should be. :-)

That is 7 hours you'll never get back, wow, but at least they found the problem and got it corrected now. Phew! I wonder if sometimes, the Enterprise could have the same problem, like if communications are down, they won't get orders and can't transmit reports to Fleet headquarters... hm. That alone makes me think they must get most of their info on planets, diseases and such scientific stuff from internal databases rather than an internet-like setup. *wanders off lost in Trek thoughts*

Fixed - just a few minutes ago! There was a routing/connection problem between a company that delivers LJ content to some parts of the world and several NZ ISPs (including Telecom/Xtra, which I'm with). It took a few days for LJ staff to trace the problem to its source, then talk to the companies involved and get it fixed.

YAY.

I'm not with Telecom/Xtra so thats maybe why I didn't have a problem.
