This is from someone you know, but not who you think.
You shouldn't use stained-glass as a negative analogy. This is because stained-glass is beautiful and possesses no negative qualities. Your analogy is further flawed because you talk about looking through stained-glass. Stained-glass is not meant for looking through, it is meant to celebrate the beauty and glory of God (if it is in a church, which it usually is). Also, by not considering other peoples' point of view, you are committing the same crime that you accused this person of doing, therefore making you a hypocrite. Sometimes people are really trying to help you, and you shouldn't turn your ears from them. Only true friends have the courage to tell you the truth, even if they know you won't like it.
