I love how Nick and Alan look in the WIP, it's so them, I love it. And the awkward!hair ruffle face Nick has is adorable and totally Nick at the same time.
And as for the Alan/Nick fail!pic, I would say that maybe a different expression on Nick's face? The smile freaks me out [unless that's the point]. But I don't think you need to touch Alan, I really like the way he looks here. But just a warning, I don't know anything about drawing/art/etc.
Aw, I like the gesture in the Alan/Nick/sink WIP. Am looking forward to seeing that one finished :). One thing though--the bottom of the image is cutting off at a rather awkward place. Maybe add 50-100 pixels to the bottom of the canvas, just so you can get the rest of their feet? Or, alternatively, crop in above their ankles.
Noted! The actual image was larger, and this was a sloppy last-minute crop...but I like the idea of just cutting off the shoes altogether. Shoes take too long to paint. :(
Hmm, for the last one, I'm thinking it's a mix of the look on Nicks face and the angle of the sword.
I think if Nick looks that crazily!happy, he should be in more of a battle pose. It's a weird angle for his wrist. You could put the sword more in front of Alan, like he's trying to protect him. After all, he does always try to put Alan behind him in a fight. And it'd put more of a focus to the piece.
Of course, all the pictures rock. Your drawings always do!
