whenever i'm in san diego and i see cars with Baja California plates I always trip out because I keep thinking BC = our BC, not Baja

At a rest stop on the 401 east of Toronto I once thought I saw a car with plates saying NEW MEX at the top, then I realized there probably aren't any states that abbreviate their name on their plates, and besides, New Mexico plates are usually yellow with that red sun design on them.

When I got closer I noticed it was actually NL MEX, as in Nuevo León. That's a long way to drive, especially in a Ford Tempo.
