Do I really have to say this?

A capital letter I doesn't need a dot on it! Sheesh.

Except if you're writing in Turkish, and then only some of the time.

Turkish has two kinds of i's doesn't it? With and without dots.
Capital or not

Yes, for two different sounds. But otherwise it's visually very distracting and I have to say your (our) fellow Dutch are particularly guilty of this.

Haha, how come?
I just read on Wikipedia, that they borrowed the ö from Swedish, the ü from German, and a letter I can't type from Romanian. Where is the Dutch contrib?

I meant that Dutch people often seem to dot their handwritten capital Is (as well as mixing up caPiTaLs anD LoweRcase, among other crimes against typography), not that they had anything to do with the dotted Is in Turkish. I figure that that was probably Atatürk's idea.

Likewise. I thought you'd dropped off the face of the earth, but I suppose you've just been hiding in a corner of one of the earth's eyes or something.
