Lick Fire

"It's just like LA!"

I took this picture of the smoke from the Lick Fire at the wharf a few hours ago. The smoke has since continued to build up, and the edge of it has drifted further northwest. The sunset is a lovely but strange color of yellow-orange right now.

Yeah, it started getting murky in Palo Alto around 3, and by the time I headed North, it had worked its way up the peninsula and SF was beginning to get that haze. The Chron's article is here.

oh you should see it up here in emeryville, too - allegedly it is a cloudless day, but you cannot tell for all the smoke in the air. the sun totally has that orangey diffused glow. really weird, and annoying because it's causing all kinds of coughing and eye-watering.
