I've been turning plastic grocery & produce bags into sturdy, reusuable shopping bags. Problem is, I don't really accumulate bags fast enough to make the bags ( Read more... )

I have a bunch of Farmer's market bags you can have, I keep forgetting my cloth bags.
Speaking of, want to trade some muslin produce bags for one of your bags with handles? I think they're nifty.

I'd be happy to trade. It just might take a while, as it seems to take me a gazillion bags to make one bag. I'm currently making one for my mom, I must have cut up about 40 bags, I've used up 2/3 of them, and it seems like i have only made a decorative bowl. (time to switch to double-treble stitch?)

they do... more open construction. I would think they take fewer bags, too, but that doesnt feel like its true.

Are you doing the Etsy Labs trick of ironing them between layers of parchment? I keep meaning to do that.

I'm cutting the bags into strips and knitting or crocheting them.
