I just got an email from Blood Centers of the Pacific, begging type O donors for blood. Less than one day's supply is available, going into the unfortunately bloody Memorial Day and summer driving season. Giving blood is one of those things that I do when it's convenient, but not as I should. I feel guilty about it. So I called them up and said I

My brother donates blood fairly regularly and he used to have a couple of friends who went with him, though they've since moved away. I think he did apheresis the last time he went, too. I've often thought about going with him, but lazy me, I haven't done it.
