This is a video clip (about 7 min), from a KQED show called Quest that did a segment on Second Life. It's a good introduction to SL and how it is seen as having potential in education and as a new information space.

I started a Second Life account with the idea that I could learn how to construct things in a 3D environment (like your tower), but Real Life™ intervened before I had even finished on “introduction island”…
Hopefully I will be able to get back to it.
