I'm still alive. Wewt.

I saw a blue heron today, in the grass behind the bus depot. It was strange, seeing the large bird away from water, and behind a busy street, like that. What was stranger was how unafraid it seemed. It showed no signs of alarm until I was only about five feet away ( Read more... )

I thought you'd be more of a dancer. Being one of those popular people that goes to clubs and such (even if you are quiet).

I'm not real sure what swing is tho, exactly

Hmm, Koi would likely disagree with me, but club music isn't the best for dancing. And besides, I can't dance like that.

Swing is the dance you dance to swing music :p

Y'know, this is a great post :D Really.

I love watching the birds (because I love birds). A favorite pastime is seeing how close I can get without threatening them, or sitting still and seeing how close they will get to me. I'm not one of those who like to chase them away or try to grab them...in fact that behavior kinda annoys me.

I love birds myself. I'm starting to miss the birch tree at my parents' place. IT always seems to draw birds in the fall and winter. Chicadees of course, but purple finsches and sttellar's jays and the occasional woodpecker.

And, well, I have been known to chase the occasional flock of seagulls, and I try to sneak up on sandpipers which never works. But birds like herons just make you stop dead when you're that close.

I learned how to swing dance, it wasn't that bad, I had fun doing it. I also learned the jitterbug, that's a weird one.

I've had moments like that with animals you don't see everyday. Mine was with a Crane though, because we don't get too many Cranes around here. It was pretty neat.

It's also nice to see that you're still alive.

Heh, I'm always pleased to wake up in the morning and discover I'm not dead yet, yes.

Swing dance is awesome *nods* we had to learn it in school, sort of, but this isn't a bit the same.
And I'm told my nana used to jitterbug quite well. She won awards for it.

Heh, I've never seen a crane in Canada; only in Japan. So..they were tsuru, the Japanese crane, obviously.

I'm not entirely sure where they're native too. I see them every now and then, maybe once or twice a year, and it's never more than one of them. I always imagined they were native to places like, Minnesota and Michigan, places like that with lots of water.

When I worked at a trout farm back when I was 16, or whatever age I was that summer, I ended up shooting at one of those birds because it was raiding us. I missed, though...and hey! *cries* I'm not on your friends list.

Err...yeah. I was sorting through my LJ friends list and removing the names of those who I had set as friends, but who didn't have me, when I noticed that you made the delete list. Now I know what happened, lol.
