Hi. *waves* I came across your journal via Hogwarts Pride and I love the fact you live in Brussels and study in Ghent. Currently I study in Utrecht, but I am very much looking forward to starting my Masters in Leuven! I absolutely love Belgium - except for the French though, considering my French isn't the best. I should be ashamed, I know.
Anyhow, now I am intrigued and would enjoy reading your journal. ^^

Hi! Actually *blushes* I live in Bruges :) I'm all excited to go to Ghent, tomorrow we have no classes (stupid) so the real start is Tuesday. I saw you study English/Dutch, if I wouldn't have picked Psychology, I would've done the same :)

Gehehe. I love Fleur indeed. ^^ (Although I should actually detest pretty people.)
And I'm silly, I confused Bruges with Brussels. I love Bruges much more, though. I especially adore the Christmas shops there! It's such great shopping in Bruges. And the waffles, yum ;)

I wanted to study Dutch/ English in Leuven, but in the end I decided to study two majors in Utrecht. People are usually impressed by that, which is great for my ego.

Heeh, I've never been to Brussels before (gasp). Christmas shopping is something I look forward to every winter, it's so nice to walk around and look at things, I love the atmosphere. Waffles are yum! And fries :D

Ego boosts are always good. Russian must be so interesting to study. I'm impressed as well. I'll be glad if I pass my Statistics, and that's a whole challenge :p

Hi there! I saw your post on psych_students and said, hey! It's someone from Belgium! I'm studying carillon for a year over in Mechelen. How're you liking Ghent? West Flanders is a really beautiful place; I've enjoyed myself each time I've had reason to take the train over.

I had to look up the word 'carillon'. Sounds way awesome though, and a great opportunity. I wish I could study in a foreign country for a year. How's that going anyway? Did you learn some Dutch? I've heard it's difficult to learn...

Ghent is nice, I like it there. It's just a typical student-city, and the people are great too. Not to sound shallow but there's way more hot guys and girls there^^ And uni is great too, I've been wanting to study psychology since I was 12, actually doing it is wow. *is nerd* Aw, I love my city, Bruges is wonderful to return to after a long day at uni. West-Flanders is home, I don't care how much they make fun of our accent or how many jokes there are about us all being farmers, it's lovely. I'm glad you think it's beautiful :)

So, as far as I can tell, you're right about the people watching scene--I think the average age of the population in Mechelen is about 65. So while old people can be really cool, they don't exactly make good eye candy =)

Mijn schooljaar gaat goed, maar mijn Nederlands niet zo--het is niet moeilijk te leren, maar iedereen hier spreekt dialect of Engels! Als ik Nederlands proberen spreken, ze spreken dialect dat ik niet kan verstaan, of ze spreken Engels dat beter dan mijn Nederlands is. Wel, de preposities zijn moeilijk. Op? Aan? Naar? Dat weet ik nooit.

Well I'm glad you get to finally study psych! I got interested in it the summer before I started university, and I've enjoyed it ever since. What kind of psychology are you interested in?

XD I get that. In Bruges when I'm on the bus or something, it's crammed with old people.

Je Nederlands lijkt me heel goed! Maar ik denk dat ik ook zou Engels praten, want het is niet gemakkelijk om geen dialect te praten... Maar zo doe je natuurlijk geen ervaring op, dus ik begrijp je irritatie :)

Well, it's the same for us in English, until a year ago I said 'sitting in the couch' while it's on the couch, that's just odd.

I really love Developmental Psychology. It's really interesting I think, and I'd like to work with children, though I'm not sure if I could handle that emotionally, you know? Social Psychology is really good too, a lot of people didn't like it last semester, but I did, I was way interested (I'm such a dork) I like Sociology as well, the prof is really good, and I don't know... there's just something about it that makes me go *dork* :D

I like history of psychology too, I'm at my nerdy-est during those classes^-^
