On Esther's recommendation I have started reading Flatland. It is amazing! I was reading it on duty this morning and nearly got myself in trouble because I was so engrossed that I let a bunch of kids go by with their shirts untucked, what a tragedy!

If you are one of the many people who has recommended David Sedaris to me, or who would have if I'd ask, please tell me why. I am so thoroughly disturbed right now. Either I am completely without a sense of humor, or my brain is not working right now, or you are all crazy!

I've spent the past week in Florida, increasing my risk of sun cancer, playing with Christian, and drinking too much to keep from being overly depressed/terrorized by Tom, my drunk and disorderly step-father.
