i wrote this at dinner last night =) aren't i amazing? lol. anws, this story... i've never heard anything abt the 2 magnaes being close to any of the members before debut. like... i can list off my hands who and who were close during debut... but not for the 2 magnaes. so yeah... this is my take on how ryeowook became close to youngwoon (because we all know raccoon just loves ryeo so much <3 :D) and of course... because ryeo was a replacement for that other guy.
oh and just a note, Jaewon is Blackbeat's Shim Jaewon. Because I absolutely couldn't remember any other SM dancers who are about SJ's age at dinner ytd so... yeah. this is probably the most untrue part of this story LOL. totally doesn't fit the story.

A group of boys were in a dance studio in Seoul practicing away for their debut stage. Everyone part of Super Junior 05 but Kim Ryeowook. Instead, he stood outside the door of the dance studio, hesitant to enter the room.
He was apprehensive.
He was afraid.
He was scared for that matter.
At that moment, all he wanted to do was to really run home.
It wasn’t that he couldn’t sing - after all he was a winner of the Chin Chin singing competition.
It also wasn’t that he didn’t look good - God knows how much effort went into losing weight just so he could get a chance to debut.
It was just that… those were mostly sunbaes in there.
Some of them - Jung Soo-sshi, Hyuk Jae-sshi, Dong Hae-sshi, Jong Woon-sshi, almost of the people in there - they had trained for years. They spent so much time of their youth in this place, in this building, just training and waiting for their chance at stardom. But how… he was just a hoobae - a new trainee - who was he to take Junyoung-sshi’s place?
Nonetheless, what needs to be done must be done.
He braced himself for the shouting because he was slightly late from school, he was prepared for the cold shoulders because he took away Junyoung-sshi’s chance of debuting, he was ready to get scolded by them for not knowing the dance steps well enough…
Timidly, he opened the door to the studio… the familiar studio that he had spent the last few nights in, just practicing the same few dance steps over and over again for their debut stage…
Except, there was only one person in there, sitting on the cold floor listening to the same song over and over again. He blinked and stared hard at that other person - Young Woon-sshi… Junyoung-sshi’s close hyung.
“Kim Ryeowook?” That big-sized other person asked slowly when he realised Ryeowook entered the room.
“Y-Yes… Am I in the wrong studio?” Ryeowook asked timidly, intimidated by his sheer size. No doubt he himself used to be a big man like this person here… but times do change and whoever said big people had nothing to fear. Because it was quite the contrary for him.
“No, no… Come,” that big-sized other person said, patting the floor beside him and breaking Ryeowook’s thoughts, “come over here and sit with me while we wait for Jaewon… You are waiting for him too right?”
Ryeowook nodded vigorously before raising another question slowly, as if afraid that he might get scolded by that big-sized other person if he said anything wrong, “You… You are here for extra dance practice too?”
“…Yeah,” the other person started with a sigh, “Hyuk Jae insisted that I was a horrible dancer and Teukie hyung made me come out here and have extra practice with Jaewon. You too?”
Ryeowook smiled happily as he nodded his head. He was happy to have someone practice with him.
“I like your face… Call me hyung,” the other person demanded of Ryeowook suddenly. “Call me Young Woon hyung and from today onwards, we’ll be family. Anyone bullies you and you tell them I’m your hyung. I’ll protect you!” The other person said happily, giving Ryeowook one of those famous toothy smiles that he always flashed.
Ryeowook smiled back.
“Hyung. Young Woon hyung.”
It was a start - a good start. That was one new family member gained by Kim Ryeowook in Seoul.
“I like your face too, Young Woon hyung.”
