If the musical of The Comedy of Errors you saw at the RSC was The Boys from Syracuse by Rogers, Hart and Abbott, this Broadway show was filmed in 1940 (and is available for download and on DVD). Unfortunately, the film was - rightly - universally panned...

No, it was home-grown, the rSC did it for themselves. I have the program back home, but can't remember any details now!
