A spicy scent filled the air. Mist clouded the main room, where a woman scurried around to gather the necessary ingredients for her potion. A small creature flew around her head as she moved through the room and it continuously made remarks about Soulfire's actions.

"That's too much cinnamon, you know. You're making a potion, not an apple pie. Are you seriously thinking about adding that much stardust? It's expensive, you know, and it's not really necessary either."

"Ruby," the red-haired witch said, just a little vexed and tired, "I would appreciate it if you remained silent for a while. Don't you have anything better to do anyway?"

Ruby, a faerie who had chosen to be Soulfire's familiar, pouted. "Fine. Whatever. Don't forget the taxi will arrive in about half an hour." She flew away. "Whatever possessed you to become a teacher anyway?" came from the other room.

Despite everything, Soulfire had to smile. "Because I like passing on the knowledge I have gathered during the past century. And it allows me to meet new people as well. That's why I like travelling as well, you know."

Disclaimer: Laurian and Moira are copyrighted to me. Please give the proper credit when you want to use them. Haruka - although only mentioned here - belongs to Takeuchi Naoko.
Author's Note: A small drabble about what Laurian has done during the long, long summer holiday.
Word count: 154

Laurian stared pensively out through the window. It had been only a few hours ago since she and Haruka had said goodbye to each other. She could understand it; Haruka wanted to look at her dojo before returning to St. Catherine's. But Laurian already missed her, even though she knew she'd see the blonde again within a month.

It had been strange, but fun, those few weeks they had spent together. No matter how bad their start had been, Haruka had become one of her closest friends by now. She made her feel different somehow; Haruka's presence calmed her down, opened her up and even made her smile at times.

Laurian glanced at the few pictures they had taken and smiled. Though the death of Moira still loomed in her mind, the young woman could feel she was about to start on a new beginning. And she knew it was all thanks to Haruka.

There hung a peaceful silence in the mountain forests. It was a silence she had missed at St. Catherine's School. The school was a good place, she had to admit that. But the noise all the girls could create sometimes grated on her nerves.

Dayenne gazed up at the sky and noticed a small speck approaching her at high speed. The ranger smiled and extended a gloved hand. Several moments later, Edan landed on her outstretched hand. Dayenne stroked her falcon gently.

"You like it here, too, don't you?" she murmured to her friend. Edan turned his head and blinked. "Yes, I like it," Dayenne responded to the unspoken question. "I'm afraid we'll have to go back soon, though."

Edan cocked his head and Dayenne had to laugh. "I agree. But let's not think about it, we have still some weeks. Why don't we go hunting instead? We need some food for tonight."

It was peacefully quiet in the room he was allowed to use until the injuries were gone and he found another place to stay. Liz, his younger sister and a student of this magical high school, lay on her stomach on his bed with a sketchpad and colouring pencils.

Terence stood up, switching off the computer, and moved to his little sister. All this staring at the computer only made his headache worse; it was time to stop right now anyway.

"What are you drawing?" he asked as he sat down next to Liz.

Liz looked up with a smile and showed him her drawings. "You and me. And that's Artemis, Minako's cat. This is Katelyn, a very good friend. I like her very much. And these are all my friends. I'm still working on it, because there are so many friends."

Terence looked at the pictures while he listened to her explanation. He marvelled at his sister's talent; he hadn't known she could draw like this. It proved to him once again that it had been a good idea to send Liz here.

He stroked her hair and placed a light kiss on top of her head. "You like it here, don't you?"

"Hn," Liz replied happily. "I like it here very much, especially now you are here as well." She rolled herself onto his lap and put her arms around his waist. "I'm glad Rei and River came to take us back here."

Disclaimer: Ralph is copyrighted to me. Please give the proper credit when you want to use her.
Author's Note: A small drabble about Ralph of what she does at St. Catherine's during the summer - when she isn't flirting or dating; also posted at St. Catherine's as a RP entry.
Word count: 149

The silence of St. Catherine's gardens was noisily disrupted by an explosion. Whirls of dust clouded the air and it rained sand and small stones. The commotion settled down after a few minutes, revealing a boyish woman covered with dirt. She grinned excitedly at the results of the small bomb she had created.

"Captain's log, stardate... dunno. Bomb experience was succesful," Ralph said gaily to herself while she brushed some dust from her clothes. "Though not as pretty as fireworks, the noise of the explosion was very satisfying. Bomb is accepted."

The woman bent down to remove the remnants of the bomb. Though it was fairly harmless now, it would be bad for the flowers if some piece of metal lay rusting among them. Besides, a real professional didn't leave any evidence behind.

Ralph whistled softly while she prepared the next bomb. There were more experiments to be done.
