Ph.D. ∨ Bust

I’ve started looking into graduate school programs in the last week or so. My intent is to specialize in philosophy of mind and philosophy of science, and so the schools I will be applying to are somewhat known for those specialties. Plenty of people in the field have written in attempts to take the edge off the deep mysteriousness of the project (vd. here, here and here.

Also, I hope you had "Ph.D. XOR bust" in mind?

Make sure you know whether you want to apply to the department of History and Philosophy of Science at Pittsburgh, or the normal philosophy department. It sounds like HPS is the one for you, but I don't know and you should be sure.

For the rest: that is a good list, although if I were you I'd add a couple more schools (if you can afford it) because those are all kind of tough places to get in. In my personal experience, the absolute most important thing is your writing sample, so make sure you have one that reflects at your best. And, well, Princeton is very cool if you get in :).
