How is it only the second day of real classes/schedule and I'm already completely swamped?

I am now officially a violin teacher at a small music school in Sidney, BC. Yay job!

School has sort of begun. Classes have officially started, but I haven't had anything other than lessons and meetings so far. Orchestra and whatnot starts next week. It's good to be back. I'm looking forward to being very busy ( Read more... )

Twice while I was busking today there were adorable little girls dancing in the streets, with no sense of rhythm whatsoever. It was really, really cute. I didn't even mind when an employee from the snobby wine store next to the cafe I was entertaining asked me to leave because it didn't go with their own music.

My roommate is in the process of moving out. Most of her stuff is gone now, and she'll be back a little bit to clean and get the last random bits and pieces, and then I am roommateless until about the 26th, when my new roommate moves in! I'm making between $13 and $20 an hour busking. I'm so not getting a real job. Between this and wedding gigs, I'm doing well.
