One of the symptoms is 'removing items of clothing'? I'll say no more, for fear of appearing tasteless.
Good luck with the MRI scan. I've had one (trying to work out what was physically wrong with my hearing) and they're nothing too bad - fifteen minutes or so of lying in a box while someone tunes up an incredibly discordant electric guitar by your head.
And, you know, *hugs* and all the best in general. :-)
Sorry to disappoint, but so far I've not found myself removing any items of clothing during a seizure. ;)
I'm not too worried about it, as long as my claustrophobia doesn't decide to go ZOMG WHAT IS THIS. I'm told it's probable they won't find anything at all.
And as for claustrophobia, I don't suffer from it, so I can't speak with any authority whatsoever, but I don't remember it being particularly cramped and it was basically just the head that was between a pair of big magnets.
It's usually a good thing to know what something is, to have a name for it. I've had an MRI as well as a check-up after meningitis and it wasn't too bad - nowhere near as bad as the lumbar puncture was!! With the one I went to it wasn't all that enclosed either, especially not when they only do pictures of the head. I was told to bring my own music with me so I listened to my own CD, which was kind of cool.
I've never had an MRI, only an EEG, so I can grok the want for a pretty picture of the brain.
In other news, oh bugger, you have my sympathy and as Ann says, at least you now have a name and can work out whats going on easier and develop good coping techniques.

You know, so I can call for help.
I think they showed me the picture of my brain. I can't remember. I do know they didn't find anything to suggest what was wrong with my hearing.
