I played a two session swiss team event Saturday. Traditionally, the day before mother's day (yes, I know, this was a week late) my unit holds a two session swiss with a BBQ dinner at the split. Thanks! This is Jo. At the other table there was no light take-out double and our opponents played 4H, making, so my play of the diamond King allowed us to lose "only" 8 imps instead of 11. And I actually had the heart queen, not the jack.

It doesn't change much, but in fact I held Qxx, Qxxx, Kxxx, Ax and my partner held x, AJxx, AQxxx, Qxx.

What would he have rebid if you had responded 1S?

Since a rebid of 1N would show 15-17 balanced (we are playing weak NT), he would have to rebid 2D over 1S, which tends to show a six-card suit. It is an awkward hand.
