If they doesn't care about getting the book, then tell it to the teacher and do the work alone. Also, don't give them the book, they may give it to you back very late.

I agree. Sounds like they don't care and that's their desiscion. Get away so they don't drag you down with their mark, I think.

do it yourself, then inform the teacher that they didn't want to contribute anything and didn't even read the book.
