if you were transported into the future, took an artifact that was found from a digging site, and then traveled back in time to place the artifact at the place at which it was to be discovered in the future, how old would the artifact be?

Infinitely old, because it would be trapped in a causal loop forever. *nod nod*

but it can't be infinetly old, because after a certain age, materials will desolve back to nature.

Hm, good point.

So after a finite number of times in the loop, if the aging is cumulative, the object would decay and vanish. *nod nod*
