From
letoilefilante She gave me: Anime, Interpol, Olivier Latendresse, Photography, Save Ferris, The Decemberists (LOVE!).
1) Anime: I really love the style of the artwork as well as reading/watching them. My faves include everything from Hot Gimmick to Sailor Moon.
2) Interpol: Rocks my socks off!
3) Olivier Latendresse: He's Phoenix Coyotes property who played for San Antonio Rampage and Phoenix Road Runners. He's Guillaume Latendresse's older brother. He was also teammates w/ Luc Bourdon, Kris Letang & even Mark Hurtubise w/ Val D'Or during his Q days. His rather "slashy" moment w/ Pier-Olivier Pelletier at last year's Rookie Tournament made me love him even more. ;)
4) Photography: I love photography & it's a part of me. I love taking pix a lot and learning new techniques. I even got a degree in photography and I hope to get my MFA in photography and eventually teach it.
5) Save Ferris: A ska band I was into during my high school days and early years of college. Monique Powell, lead vocalist, is awesome! I miss them lots since they had some awesome shows back in the days.
6) The Decemberists: An indie folk rock band from Portland Jackie got me into a while ago. She even made a cute comic of the band w/ Morrissey. T'was an excellent comic.

Last Wednesday I was able to add the 3rd class. Despite being late to class, since it took me forever to find parking, I spoke to Ms. Hoover, the instructor, and w/o her having to look through my portfolio, she was able to add me to the class. BTW... The class I'll be taking is Photo 122, which is Portraiture & Fashion Photography. Thus my Tuesdays and Thursdays are free for right now. I'll however need my Tuesdays for lab time.
Then this past weekend Nommie and I had dinner at this BBQ place (and now I forgot the name), but the building represents some red barn house. Whenever we go to Pasadena, we'll past by this place and we've been meaning to try that place out. The food was excellent. The following day, I went to Riverside to watch Nommie play some pick up hockey. Then afterwards, us and his hockey buds all went to Mike's shop to celebrate his son's birthday. It was just a small post game bbq as always. We stayed there for a bit before we went to
arielchick's place. She and Keith just got a new apartment not too long ago, and it's very nice! It was sooooooo great seeing her again after all of this time. Since it was insanely hot to do anything, we mostly stayed at her place, watching movies: Finding Nemo, Titanic and Guess Who? Before that, we were driving around, looking for potential places for her wedding. One place she had in mind, we checked it out. It was a park on Market St. Knowing Riverside well despite me seldomly visiting that place, I wasn't too keen w/ that area. I'm glad we checked it out because that park was right next to an Adult Store. Worse yet, the surrounding areas were littered with empty liquor bottles & sex toys packaging not to mention parking was hard to find. Therefore, we decided to keep looking for better places to hold her wedding. In all, I am really stoked her and Keith and this will be my first time since my aunt's wedding almost 11 years ago I'll be part of a wedding. I saw pix of what the bridesmaid's dress will look like and they are gorgeous. Before we left Riverside, Nommie installed a new cd player in
arielchick's car, since some idiot broke into her car and stole her cd player along w/ her iPod. So that was my week so far.
Thursday Nommie and I plan on going to the rookie camp. I need to transfer all of the pix onto my computer since I'm expecting to take a whole bunch of pix at camp. Then Saturday will be the Baby Sharks vs. Baby Ducks game. Then on Tueday I should be able to go to the Kings' Training Camp. I'm glad September is here!
Since the new NHL jerseys are emerging...
I was able to see the new jerseys at the Kings' Draft Party. I really like how it's all nice and simple, and unlike a handful of the new jerseys, the Kings didn't do anything crazy to them.
Lastly, I really couldn't resist
Getting My Hands On This Baby!. I know it's understandably pricy, but it was well worth it not to mention shipping was free. I get a whole lot more than the dvd alone. I wasn't expecting this movie to be on dvd soon. It seems like yesterday (late July) that movie was in theatres. Sadly, this movie was only shown in S. Korea (if I'm not mistaken) and they didn't do so well there. :( How much more had it been shown in the U.S.? Anyhow, I should get my copy sometime in October. *dances*
I better get back to work. Till then, have a wonderful night. :)
