So, the breakfast. I survived! More shockingly, it was pleasant. Lordy lord.

It's good that it went better than you imagined, but I guess she'll always be the "other woman" to you, no matter what.

Let's say it's a good thing it's done and you won't have to see her for a while?

That's EXACTLY it. That articulates how I feel about her, whatever my reaction was.

Dad, yes. Her no. And I don't think Dad will push it either. He didn't ask me to meet her until I hinted that it was okay. So I reckon I'll be able to handle it at my own pace, which is a relief. And knowing that Dad is sensitive to our feelings about it makes me feel better. I ADORED my dad as a kid. He can still be a good guy.
