The Potterparty was a right lol and reminded how much I love geeking out about anything, really. I love any kind of crowd where you can drop a first name and EVERYONE will know who you mean, its win. TY to Amypants.
I think a lot of what made HPDH suddenly absord POTC Mass Of Slightly Flawed Moving Plots syndrome was the fact it's obviously not the only book set to the term structure, and is instead a lot of jumping around from periods of stability to constant movement and new places.
Aside from a few really WTH character flaws (laziness?) I just hung my critical hat up for the night and read. Some bits still made me jumpy, some bits I appreciated for being darker and a different style to usual, some bits were endearing and heartfelt and some bits were naff. I realised I stopped actually giving a toss about Harry's future a while ago, so the things that made it more win for me that weren't to do with His Potterliness outweighed the naff, so I'm satisfied.
Then my body decided to abruptly remind me a) I am not a child anymore and b) that reality bites, and I spent most of the day under Natalie's feet while she tried to pack and clean, whining about my insides. Most annoying even to me. She did buy me Ben and Jerry's though, and I met my nice art teacher on the way home, funny as I'd just watched History Boys and been reminded of him.
