Agonizing over the choices one has made solves little.

I know that. It's just... been bothering me lately.

How so?

The curse last weekend brought it all back up again. I haven't been able to get it out of my head.

Nothing is that absolute. You can't and shouldn't change the past, but you can always help change the future. That's what's important.

I'm not so sure it's not already all set in stone. Predetermined.

But maybe that's just taking the easy way out. If it's all predestined, then that means it wasn't my fault, and nothing I do or don't do will have any effect on what's going to happen. I don't want that kind of responsibility.

Guess I don't really have a choice about it, though.

I don't think anyone does, and honestly, I kind of find that comforting. Maybe you can't change what's already happened, for whatever reason, but knowing that you can change what will happen?

No, it's not easy, but it's worth it. You've always got the choice to effect the outcome of something.

Then the only thing left is figuring out how.

Is that really what it takes to keep you going every day?

Most of the time I can get by without thinking about it. It's easier that way.

When you do think about it, do you never think of an alternative?

What, between "my life had to suck or the world would have ended" and "it didn't have to suck, it just did"? Not a lot of middle ground there.

I refuse to believe in destiny.

But, whatever helps you sleep at night.

It's just kind of hard to argue with a time loop.

I would imagine so.

That's right. The wheels of fate have chosen that fate for us. But all that matters is that the mission was a success, which I assume it was.

Yeah, probably. The sorceress will still rise sometime in the future, but we've already defeated her, so...

Will rise again? Is she that strong?

It's not that. The sorceress comes from the future. We defeated her in the future, but she'll still fight SeeD in the future before we defeat her.

...or something like that. It's a little complicated.
