...which costs? I figured I couldn't quite justify the 8 quid a month T-Mobile wanted for something I'd not use more than a few hours a month at most.

I believe this GPRS is metered per byte, rather than per second of connection. That, and GPRS isn't connection-based, as such... But I think I technically pay for so much transfer per month anyway, it's just recently I'm getting around to actually using it.

Yeah, I ended up paying a couple of quid for a bit over a megabyte one month when I somehow connected by accident. T-Mobile's GPRS is now (in theory) flat-rate for "unlimited" (up to a point, subject to "fair use") bandwidth...
