Most proper restaurants in Kuala Lumpur are halal (i.e. the Islamic equivalent of the Jewish kosher). Found myself at a shopping mall that has a non-halal Japanese restaurant which I recall serves decent Tonkatsu (豚カツ) (hmm.. Wikipedia link for those who are curious about what is tonkatsu).

Unfortunately, the standard has dipped compared to the last time I had the dish there. The pork cutlet was too lean this time and ended up being a bit dry and chewy. The previous time I had it, the pork cutlet was a good juicy balance of fat and lean. Disappointed. Hoping for a good meal to mitigate the calories (and fat but there was a lack of it this time) eaten. If I'm going to sabotage my diet with extra calories and fat, the meal had better be worth it! =D
