well, my current project seems to involve periods of activity followed by about 15 minutes of inactivity as I wait for the system to Commit my changes so that I can test them, only to find the bits that don't work, requiring updates and another 15 minutes of inactivity....[ad nauseaum ( Read more... )

If it makes you feel any better, all your descs and random talking talk up AAaaaages in the song I was trying to make. Not only did I have to cut over half of them out, I had to mix all the npc's at the party over the top of each other. Did you listen to it with Trae yet? Trae, if you're watching: Previously in Nobilis :)

If you want a week off, I can run Zanthia easily enough - I've got a very good idea (I think anyway) for Plot(tm) which I'm happy to run and give you time to get out of writers block?

Meanwhile, if you accuse yourself of planning poorly again, I'll slap you with the biggest trout I can find!! I am the Power of Poor Planning and I know for a fact (ah, lvl 1 domain miracle) that you have no Poor Planning in you. I particularly liked the massive list of NPC's coming to the party and the way you quite happily included various Powers that we wanted added (power of Stimulants? Little goth chick who can't sit still)

I think the biggest problem with Nobilis (and to a lesser extent Vampire) is that the game system virtually requires Downtime shtuff. When most of your players aren't interested in Downtime shtuff you will find it very hard for you to keep the game moving. You need the downtime shtuff for people to develop their own goals and characters place in the world.

I've got it easy in Zanthia where advancing the plot is simply slaughtering a few mooks in a certain location with a Big Bad(tm) at the end to taunt you!!

mental note: NPC Regal of Trout, coming up this session. Clearly he is a power of Hell, corrupting the very air we live in with stinkiness, tempting foolish humans into believing that might makes right, when one is armed with the fearsome firepower of Troutness!

Mwahahahhahaha!

which is difficult to do with 6 PC's

Thats how many I've got in my monday night and yes it's tough. The fact that the game is DnD makes it even tougher. Coming up with challenged for a 6 member lvl 8 party with no cleric? Not easy, so much paperwork and math... I'm thinking of switching to WoD or L5R ( a very cool Japanese fantisy game) just to save me constantly having to write out pages of NPC's that last for a session if that.

Oh and the palladins AC is now 31, he has trouble hitting himself so you can imagine how my crack teams of goblin ninja are fairing.

But as for your game your doing fine. It's difficult to write a plot to drag in 6 disparate chars into one glorious whole, however yours is coming along just fine. Breath, relax and enjoy.

Or after M's finished with the Trout I'm going to beat you down with a Cod....

you play the good guys and the next you play the bad

Not a bad idea, but how would you take your oppiset number down? You could have two groups, one playing bad guys the other good. But last time I did that I was the bad guy. My plans were detailed, well thought out, and involved exploding zombies (not exclusively, but they where a highlight). The good team never planned. They just relied on the GM letting them live. And he did.... (they killed a beholder by somehow dosing all it's eyes in paint)

very, very bad. Photocopies bad

I thought you promised not to mention this... New mage is kinda good for this though.

One other game I'd like to try is 50+ freebies

Do not do this with old Vamp!! I tried it once and the only threats to the Chars were the other chars. The Ventrue won in the end... Might work with new Vamp thought. As if your that powerful your also very close to losing it all your power (blood potency rules)

(and Keens, I think) Nope in this game you mean me :)

It's an important part of an Evil campaign to sit down with the players and decide if the Good guys are supposed to win or if they're not. Think about it, do you want to feel bad because you can never win or bad because you just destroyed a world full of peoples lives?

Re: promise - I've broken that so many times it's not even held together by remnants :) Meanwhile, are you taking the photocopies down to the Hol house?
