So so so much reading. 300 page-novel for Wednesday,plus a bunch of Lit submissions for tonight, and all my workshop reading for tonight. AND a lovely 20-page final paper for the following Wednesday, plus the final novel. Yikes. Though I really can't complain--'tis the writer's life!

I don't know how I did it in undergrad. How did I read so much and have such a social life? Such explorations and adventures, while reading, writing, all-night painting sessions in the studio arts building? I feel like I'm drowning in all my reading. Fall nostalgia. I'm not even sure WHAT I'm nostalgic for, but fall always brings this feeling. It's like I can still smell my childhood. Something about the cool crisp brightness--brings back all this mystery and magic. Off to my first Spanish class as a grad student! Yay! (MFA writing students can audit a language class). I think I'll sit in my favorite yoga cafe after and write. I love rain.

Ach! Such a day of procrastination! I've been trying to do laundry for hours--of which I have mountains and mountains--and yet every single thing that possibly could distract me IS distracting me. Preparing an Indian feast! I'm making: samosas, vegetable pakoras, chicken tikka masala, and mango lassis! How lucky I am to live above an Indian market! Grad school in four days!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am tingling all over, partly from star bucks ac and partly from magic. The more I look for it, the more I find it...magic surrounds me! Eric dressed up as an Indian prince for my birthday, with a rudraksha bead necklace and Om tunic from the Indian clothing stores on 2nd ave. hahahaha it was absolutely amazing!
