do you mean if you have normal hair, or if you already have real dreads?

you dont have to have real dreads, you can get fake dreads that go into your normal hair, look like real dreads, and then come out again leaving you back to your normal hair.. search for the fakehair community on LJ to find out more about that.

Extending real dreads.. I just made dreads out of human hair (or if you have a friend whose chopped off their own dreads, those work better) and sewed them onto the end
