Friends-list cut to come...

I'm considering slight trimming of my friends list. Mostly I'll be cutting (again) inactive multiple journals, so likely, if you're on my friends list AND reading this, you're likely to stay. Unless you're one of those stalkers who read but never post nor comment - I'm not actually sure if there is someone like that, as I'm likely to think it's ( Read more... )

I did this very thing a while ago. It was sad to root out dead journals belonging to people I used to talk to here a lot - but at the same time, I like LJ to be a fairly mutual process. If people have access to what's going on with me, I like at least the odd word or two from them.

I can suggest you some nice people if you like?

Vähän samoin on käynyt täällä päässä - monet vanhat kaverit on kadonneet tyystin.

That's what I think too - and also find it kinda creepy that there's some people who have access to what's on with me, but don't allow me the same access. There's been some real-life people I had at some point way more common with but now hardly see anymore - if they then used LJ for reading what's going on with me but rather talked what's going on with them over a pint or three than posted or even commented - I don't have a slightest clue if they still read or if they've also disappeared from LJ-land since 2006 or alike. I bet for the latter, but not knowing makes me feel bit uncomfortable sharing some things.

On the other hand, I'm going to keep some dead journals that belong to close people, who disappeared from LJ but who I wish would return some day...

I'd like to make new friends, too, at some point, but when my few current friends post regularly I find it takes some time to address all I read. Even after just over two years on LJ I have friends on my list whom I haven't heard from in months: some don't post anymore, and some just never comment.

Well I guess the amount of deserted journals just keeps getting worse with longer time. I have some such LJ-friends who last have commented over two years ago, and who have multiple accounts, none of which has been active for years.

Sometimes the time is more right for new friends than some other times :)

I wandered over from goffburds' journal. I'm feeling similar frustrations about non-posters and lurkers. It seems like we have some things in common (and I post and comment on a regular basis). Do you mind if I add you?
