New York!

I am back from New York. It was insanely wonderful and busy and I had a great time but I am now EXHAUSTED on every level it is possible to be exhausted on. I'll have more of a recap soon but suffice it to say I saw Dan Radcliffe, I saw the Harry Potter exhibit, I ate at Crumbs, and I walked like crazy, met tons of authors and got a crazy amount of ( Read more... )

She was doing a signing for her upcoming YA book, Modelland, at the Randomhouse Booth. She uses the phrase "smize" in her book, no kidding, and the main character's name is Tookie. I'm not making this stuff up.

...Tookie? That is just way too close to dookie imo. And haha, I think I remember reading somewhere that she was trying to trademark "smize" so I am not at all surprised she shoved it in her book.

BEA is the best place in the world to get free books. I couldn't go this year because of work, but my sister went for company and came back with a motherlode of new books. I hope you got some good ones :) And I'm glad you got to have the Crumbs experience, those cupcakes should never be missed.

My registration was $120 for both BEA and Book Blogger Con but I think it can be as low as $90 if I had registered as a librarian. There are different levels. Then, once you add in all your hotel and other things, it does add up.
