I want to read this post so badly, but I haven't seen the ep (and won't until tomorrow) and this is one of the times I actually want to be surprised.

I'm guessing 100% yes. She had vampire blood in her system and she died. And we know she died because Evil Alaric died. And not that they follow the books almost at all, but from what I understand (having not read them), Elena becomes a vampire in the books too. I think it'll be interesting. I didn't expect them to go there, but now that they have, it'll be fun to watch.

I'm almost more curious about Klaus being in Tyler's body. Does this mean we will never get Joseph Morgan's face on the show again? I don't know if Michael Trevino is a good enough actor to pull off a Klaus impression for too long. And I like Joseph Morgan a lot more than Michael Trevino, so I'm pulling for more Klaus and less Tyler. Also, I bet this means we haven't seen the end of Rebekah and ELIJAH!

I think so, I don't see how she could stay human now, she died with vamp blood in her system. I think it's a really interesting twist, I just hope the writers know where they're taking this. It looks like Bonnie might be the villain next season. She looks like she's gone fully over to the dark side. I have a Julie Plec interview saved on my reading list in my browser that she gave to EW I think after the finale, I haven't read it yet, but I'm hoping it provides some insight.

I don't see how they could have sustained a show with Elena as a human much longer, since there would be an inevitable thrust to have her go to college and that could get tedious. Again though, I hope the writers know how to make her transformation uniquely hers and not a retread of Caroline's. I'm more curious to see what this means for her feelings for the Salvatore Bros. Either way, I'm probably going to think about it more or less all summer lol.

I'm pretty sure she is a vampire now. I know the show and the book have deviated quite a bit, but the book did have Elena turned, so I figured it was only a matter of time.
