That sounds like an awesome trip. I'd love to see Out West. You have any plans on going back? I know I would. A guy jacking off in a mail box? I'd pay good money to see that.

Hehehe! I should've taken a pic of him for you! Ew.

I'll probably go back in two or so years. After graduation sounds good, since they won't be as prone to lump me and Andrew in the kiddie group. Andrew says the Christmas trip is better in some senses, as the relatives are giving out presents instead of rampantly buying and hoarding them.

I think we'd have fun doing a friends' trip out there. Our road trip plans never pan out, but still. It'd be fun, especially without a bunch of middle-aged women who never spend fewer than 45 minutes in any particular store. Besides, Andrew is good at navigating, so we wouldn't get hopelessly lost and raped in an alley. :P

Awwww! It's ickle Ken! He reminds me of Yuki from Fruits Basket. I think I've said that before. Anyways. They're hot in that androgynous purple-headed way. ;)

And now the cat is licking my pants. Okaaaaay. >.< Issues.

We SO have to go on a road trip. I'm going to put away about $10 every month until I have enough to go somewhere. I'm thinking if we all did that, we could pool our money together and have a kickass trip. I want to do this before I start my grad clinical psych program. Do you think we can do this? I wouldn't want to impose on you and Andrew, though...

I decided I had to show a little Ken love, so I grabbed a few Ken icons from a Digimon community. Next up will be Daisuke and Takeru. ;)

We HAVE to do it before we go to grad school... or else we'll wait yet another 4-6 years. Gah, by then we might have kids-- which would make it even more impossible. *shudder* Whenever I get a job-- which must be preceded by actively looking for a job-- I'll start saving up.

...

And if something goes awry on the Sassy side of things, we're just flat-out abducting her. Andrew has lottttts of duct tape. :P

The trip sounded... interesting, in a weird sort of way... Is Andrew's family as weird as he is, no offense to him intended, or are they more like his mom? It's an odd curiosity that kinda emerged when I read about the dogs and remembered his mom's little... overgrown rat. I can see a couple of differences since you described some people in the post, but still...

Anyways, hate to ask you a favor over lj, but it is pretty much the only way to get in contact with anyone here in Communication hell. And my point: Could you see if Jen would give you my copy of Blackwood Farm. I would like to have it back, and since she's moving... Well, yeah.

The family's all different in their own way. The main difference between Andrew and the maternal side of his family is they're family-social, and he's not. In that way, his California family's more like his mom. Well, they're practically all women, so maybe that's a given. They like 'visiting,' shopping, chatting, planning, eating out, etc. But he's most like Aunt Lynda, and she's his favorite aunt. She can be a little bit naughty and independent from the others. But they're all weird... in their own way. And like I said, Nancy's nuts in a way Andrew will never (hopefully) be. The husbands are more withdrawn and gruff though-- and Andrew doesn't like them either. They're in the military, so yeah. 'Conservative' about describes them. And the sons (no one had any daughters) are all surfer boys, in the military, Mormon, or career nomads.

I'll see about Blackwood Farm. I'm sure it's around somewhere. :)

Another thing Andrew and I have in common! trek_girl July 1 2005, 06:03:07 UTC
Okay, "Avian cockroaches" is SOO the same as "The roaches of the Kingdom Animalia," I made that joke back in the fall of 2003 during one of those "Get to know your Circle" things. Oh, and you are right, staring at the Chinese men playing chess is exactly the kind of things I would have done- We should set up a chess table on front campus and try it out. I was about to ask my self why you didnt take a picture of the two chinese men playing chess, then I relaized something- you should only take pictures if you see them playing Chinese Checkers.

If we all go to San Francisco, I'll give you $10 to go up to a Chinese chess dude and say 'wax on, wax off.' And you have to do the motions too. :3
