Starting the Next Project

Ah, it feels so good to finish a project! I have somewhere around a 10:1 ratio of apps started to finished; the majority of my projects get pushed aside as something more interesting comes up. But Omega is now complete--I've submitted it to the cell phone QA people who are giving it the once-over before offering it to T-mobile et al for sale--and ( Read more... )

I'm going backwards through my friends list, can you tell?

I really think this game sounds incredibly exciting. Maybe that's because I've been around since the inception, and have heard you being so enthusiastic about it; then again, I suspect it has something to do with the fact that this is the kind of game I like to play. Can't wait to see how you work it--I know it's going to be great!

As for my own finished projects, I've decided I need to go back in and add 10,000 words to my latest novel before I send it out. I'm looking forward to it, actually--there's a segment towards the end that I wasn't happy with, and I've thought of a way to really punch it up.

Everyone in our family is so awesome.

I do the same thing. OTOH, it's really rare that I post so frequently in my LJ so normally the reverse processing wouldn't matter a rat's snoot.

I'm still really excited about this project as well. It's an ambitious game--right on the limit of what one developer can actually code. But if designed well, that one-developer-worth-of-code can represent a vast amount of varying game features that can be created as pure add-on content: new playing maps, new special action cards, new heroes, and so on. That kind of flexibility is what gives a game lots of replayability.

Any hints on what you're going to do with this revised of your novel?

If anyone can do it, you can! We'll put an SD on your chest for Super Developer.

Oh, this revision is basically going to be taking a section of the novel where the main character didn't have anything bad happen to him, and making him completely miserable. Fun to write, fun to read! And at the same time, I'm continuing with the second book; I'm 42,000 words in (about halfway through) and already setting the stage for the third book--in fact, I've already written one scene and will probably write another this weekend, if I have time.

Speaking of time, I should have been in bed an hour ago. 'Night!
