The thing I love most about this is the fact that Franziska really is a little girl, albeit not in the way that Manfred makes her feel. She isn't dependant on him for the necessities (she has her own money, her own career, and no qualms about taking herself from one country to another, alone), and she isn't playing at being a lawyer, no matter how it seems to him. She does, however, desperately want to please her father, to make him proud of her, and see all that she's done-she wants him to treat her like his daughter, not an obligation, and I think you showed this really well. My heart breaks for her, because even in spite of something this enormous, Manfred isn't treating her any differently than he always has, and you aren't having Franziska react any differently than she would in any other situation. Despite the charge, and the fact that he's clearly at fault, she still idolises him, and wants to protect him (when really, that desire should be the other way around

Ffffff I know I've told you this before but you leave the best comments forever. Thank you so much! ;u; And yeah, see, I actually think Manfred isn't reacting to her the same way he normally does -- not in his head, at least -- because the emotional nature of the situation actually makes him feel more detached and less prone to empathy towards. But it comes off as him being the same as always because that's exactly what Franziska has come to expect. She wants him to act like a father and show that he cares, but I don't think she believed that he would for as much as a second. He never gave her any words of reassurance back when things were all right, so why would he now? I think that in some place Manfred was aware that he was supposed to act softer towards her, but hell, that only made him that much more angry at the entire situation and at her. Basically, best family ever.
Also I don't think you're in any place to congratulate others on their horribleness. God, you.
Ahh, hello there! ♥ Thank you very much, I'm really happy you liked it! I'm especially glad you found their dialogue to be in-character, because damn was writing Manfred hard. How do you do it, man?!
Basically, you have his sense of pride and self-will down in this story. This sentence "You're making it sound as though I need you here" is an excellent example of it. <3 He will NOT have anyone else fight his battles for him, blast it! >:[
I'd say more except I have to run to work in a few minutes, but I might add to this later. :3
Nah, I'm getting enlisted on Sept 14th, so there's not much of a point looking for a job even if I wanted to. (Which admittedly I don't, sue me I am lazy and want to slack my ass off before resuming the cycle of grimdark despair.) What about you?

Oh my goodness. This was beautiful. *__* A provocative look inside Franziska's psyche and a very IC exchange between her and Papa. <33333 Well done!
