Ann Coulter (Prof. Williams-friendly)

Mar 23, 2006 20:29

So I just got back from Ann Coulter and I am so disappointed. I understand that Ann Coulter is a crazy bitch, but I at least wanted to hear her state her opinion. That was something that I was denied. People were screaming the whole time, and while some parts were funny it was extremely irritating during the Q&A segment, or better yet, the lack of ( Read more... )

why is he "mateur"? because he denounced coulter? that's hardly the issue. he makes a good comparison: what would happen if ted rall came to campus?

wanna take a guess?

i'll give you the answer: nothing. the whole business of organizing mob attacks against against speech they disagree with is an exclusively progressive vocation. only progressives engage in phisical and institutional intimidation of dissenters.

so when everyone is out there chanting, "nazi," who are they talking about? who does that label fit? not conservatives.

"There was no report of DePaul College Republicans buying a ticket to see Mr. Churchill and then shouting him down, heckling him, and running him off the stage."

no. very true. in fact i was told by the campus coordinator for the world can't wait, "you can't stand here and talk about free speech." of course wcw is a maoist group, which basically means that i'm just part of a large group, including everyone in china and vietnam, who they think shouldn't have the right to free speech.

its time we start calling out who the real "nazis" are.

dude, chill. oliver was getting mad at the people who were heckling ann coulter. don't you get that?

the point of his entry was not about political views. it was about people being disrespectful. pay attention.

I was there too. I thought it was absolutely ridiculous. I really don't understand how people can respect themselves after doing something like that. Even if you don't agree with someone, you don't have the right to prevent them from speaking. I am really disgusted with some of the people that go to this school. I'm glad to see that there is some sanity left in people like you and several of the people in my Int. Pol. class, many of whom expressed the same disgust at those peoples' behavior as you.

To LUC's credit, many of the disruptors may not have been LUC students. This was posted on hotbeds of "radical" activity such as Indymedia and DePaulNoWar who are notorious for their having nothing better to do than ruin others' fun.
