Title: Senior Week (WIP)
Fandom/Universe: Community
Character(s): Jeff, Annie, Britta, Troy, Abed, Shirley, Pierce
Rating: K
In a surprising turn of events, Jeff’s the one who brings the idea up.
“I thought that senior week was something high school kids did?” Annie asks skeptically.
“Does it matter?” Jeff shoots back as he presses his palms down on the table. “The point is, this whole end of Greendale thing has got us all completely out of whack. I mean, just look at your notes.” He grabs for her binder before she has a chance to protest. “This whole page is nothing but shorthand and you still haven’t gone back and retyped all of yesterday’s notes.”
“Hey! Shorthand is a perfectly acceptable method of note taking! A-and I’ve been busy.” She says shortly, tugging the blue binder out of his hands.
“And Shirley, it’s been well over a week since you’ve found anything nice.”
“That’s…” Shirley frowns and sinks back into her chair. “True.”
“Abed. Troy. Can you remember the last time the two of you did something stupidly annoying together?”
“That would have been two weeks ago where every time you would start a sentence we would shout something really loud over everything you said.”
“Whatever.” Jeff says with a wave of his hand, clearly not looking to relive the experience. “The point is - we’ve been distracted more by what happens after finals then of finals themselves. Doesn’t that seem a little ridiculous? We’re all terrified that this is it, that in two weeks we’ll all go our separate ways and that’ll be that. But what if we had another week - completely outside of Greendale - as a way of proving that just because we won’t need the study part we’ll still always be a group of friends.”
“Kind of like a spinoff show.” Abed starts, but Jeff cuts him off with a wave of his hand.
“Abed.”
Britta leans forward.
“So your solution to us worrying what’ll happen to this group after Greendale is for us to drop all responsibility and run off on some week long fun time trip generally reserved for a bunch of mindless teenagers who think that they deserve some kind of medal for living in total comfort for eighteen years of their lives?” Britta questions as she crosses her arms over her chest. Jeff holds her gaze.
“Yes.”
There’s a pause as they stare one another down and then finally Britta breaks and lets out a sharp laugh as she shakes her head.
“All right, I’m game.”
Finally the tension that had been gripping them for weeks lifts as the gang all let out noises of delight and agreement.
a/n: Don't get your hopes up, it says WIP, but I'll probably never finish it. I find writing for the Community kids to be INCREDIBLY intimidating. I'm not that smart of a writer, TBH. But, while I haven't seen the most recent episode yet, I'm still having a lot of feelings over Jeff's graduation. This show has meant so much to me over the years and, while I'm ready for it to be over, I'm also going to be sad if it does get cancelled. Keep rocking, Communies.
