I was flipping through the channels and was stopped by news coverage of the flash flooding in the Houston area.

Is everyone okay? Has anyone been truly affected? Please let me know!

I got soaked walking to work today. The umbrella did not help at all. And my waterproof shoes still got mushy because there was so much water falling on the laces and running over the tops. I shivered through my meeting because Texans don't know how to turn off the AC, even for a moment. That's my disaster story. I'm still waiting for my federal aid money.

I hadn't heard of any flash floods, but I can believe it. It poured all day yesterday, too. Houston as usual.

No damage here. I was really hoping that work got flooded out, or at least that lightning struck that transformer that keeps, well, getting struck. No such luck. Pretty much all it meant for me is I had to take the tollway (higher ground) in to work this morning.

Nah, I'm OK. We'll see if that situation remains once I leave work.

I did have to wait out a squall at work, but since I was planning on working late anyway, it didn't really matter.
