Not much to report on. I thought the Johnny Karate episode was beyond fantastic. I just enjoyed the insanity of it all. :)
So, for tonight I might make sofritas. And I invited myself to the boy's (he's actually a man) place during Spring Break. Not sure how that's going to play out since he doesn't have a TV or internet. GROSS, RIGHT ?! And I think the only furniture he has is a bed.IDK. IDK
Today I've been decompressing from yet another funeral. This time large numbers of relatives stayed at my house for several days, due to proximity to said funeral.
The visits were actually fun, but this introvert needs some time off from people, thank you very much.
I finally watch the new eps today, and now I really wish my kids had a show as awesome/random/fun as the Johnny Karate Super Awesome Musical Explosion Show to watch.
I also finally found the easy beginner level knit-easter-bunny pattern that I've been searching for, so I can spend the next few weeks happily knitting Easter plushies for my kids/nieces and nephew. (tried to include link to pattern and got marked as spam. blah!) They'd all better get used to hand-knit gifts, because I'm sure this will be the first of many.
Lastly, I've never been the sort to do cosplay, but I really want to cosplay the hell out of a Peggy Carter outfit. That show rocks my world.
I'm sorry for your loss. I understand the need to grieve with family but it can also be exhausting. My husband's grandpa died last year around this time and after a full week of mourning with extended family I really needed to get back to normal.
I thought the same thing about the Johnny Karate Super Awesome Musical Explosion Show! What a great concept. Not annoying at all. You can tell people who actually have kids had a hand in coming up with the concept.
this is the last thursday discussion while the show is on... *sobs*
ah. *sobs*
okay. so. your dearest friend funda as usual procrastinated her paper so i should be working on it now. technically it's due tuesday so i'm ahead of schedule, but i'll be in chicago so i want to finish it. why do i have to write a paper on public services while i could be writing fanfiction?? tomorrow i'll go see an apartment so cross your fingers for me! hopefully i'll find something nice and will get out of this hellhole by the week of march 23. PARKSCON!! need i say more?
I KNOW!!! I woke up in the middle of the night after Tuesday's episode which had me sobbing and couldn't breathe for a moment, remembering that the show would be over by next week! I know it's an overreaction, but I am so sad!!
THANK YOU!!! I just want to get out of this place ASAP!!! Thank the dark lord that I'm on a month-to-month basis, I'd probably jump into lake Michigan if I had to wait until the end of my lease.
About a week ago, I was SO SAD about the show ending. Nothing triggered it - but I was just SAD for like 3 whole days. :( I already warned the family that I'm traveling with that I will be an emotional wreck this Tuesday, and probably a few days afterwards. So, at least they're prepared. And, I've gotten them into Parks, so at least they kind of understand, lol.
Today's my last day in Brasil (and South America!). Tomorrow I leave for South Africa! Door to door, it will be about 30 hours of travel from here to Cape Town...so, I'm charging ALL electronics, making sure that I have the chargers in my carry-on, and finishing my packing.
I got my hair cut and painted and I'm feeling super jazzed about starting a new adventure in South Africa! I'll be in Cape Town for the finale...thinking of all of you at Parkscon. :) Have fun, but not TOO much fun! And, please don't freeze!
Oh man, LOL. Well...I'm sure Carnival was great in Rio...it wasn't anything to write home about in Natal, where I am now. Basically, all businesses were closed and there was some "live entertainment" but not much else - I was also super sick during most of it, so that didn't help. :( I'm already planning a Carnival in Rio trip for the future, though, because I feel like that's where all the excitement happens.
My accomplishment for the week was sending whimsical_irony a hooded cowl with a menacing note and no signature or return address. I'd like to be more menacing in general, I think. I have not accomplished my entire list of Galentine's Day presents, but we'll get there when we get there. (I'm not Leslie Knope. I can't get things done three months early.)
