I am an idiot and I fell down on my hand last night, and it's bruised and swollen. My parents are over right now and my mom is making me ice my hand while she does the dishes. Lana is crying because Geoff and my dad just left to go buy sod for the yard, so hopefully we will have grass soon!
I noticed a lot of people have been responding to my posts about reading Tana French--I'm so glad to know that other people are enjoying the Dublin Murder Squad series! I first heard of it from lizinstereo so she gets credit for my interest there. I'm on the third one now and they are all so good!
I have tomorrow off and I'm planning on sleeping a lot and maybe quilling if it doesn't hurt my hand.
Hey I meant to text you today - I got your card!! Thank you so much!! I love the quilling and I'm keeping it forever posted on my wall! Thank you for the gift card too - that is perfect! (Tell Geoff and Lana thank you as well).
Does the ice seem like it's helping? I hope the hand feels better soon! Can you still write?
Oh I'm so glad you got it! Honestly with everything that's been going on I totally forgot about it, so I'm glad it did actually get to you. I did Google Map where the nearest Target is to you and it's nowhere close, as I'm sure you know, but I figured probably everything is far away and you would make it to a Target eventually!
My hand is fine--I have full range of motion in my fingers and thankfully it's my left hand so I don't write with that one. It's just swollen and pretty tender, and it was bothering me at work today because it was hurting pretty constantly. I wasn't even going to TELL my parents about it but Geoff wanted to share the story about Lana being cute when I was hurt and he blabbed. Sigh. :)
My netflix is working this week - thank goodness! Also, I'm now borrowing my mom's HBOgo login so that I can keep up with Game of Thrones, so that's been quite nice. Tonight though we are watching Serenity and eating caramel nut brownies.
The weather has been so amazing lately - almost all the snow is melted! And maple syrup season is officially over.
I'm trying to decide what series to watch after I finish my Office re-watch - I've narrowed it down to Friday Night Lights, Buffy or Veronica Mars - thoughts?
If you go with FNL, let me know what you think. I'm planning on picking a new series to marathon on some long flights later this year and that's a finalist. I'm also tempted by House of Pies.
I am so sad that GoT was leaked. It starts a real struggle between waiting for the episodes to come out as they're supposed to (which ok, in Australia still means pirating them, but pirating them in full quality on the correct days!) and watching them immediately for fear of spoilers. The internet has been shockingly good about not spoiling anything though, which is nice.
Netflix is in Australia now! I haven't got around to signing up yet, but I intend to. At the moment the AU version has about 10% of the US one, of course, but hopefully it will grow with time...
Allooo! I am checking in from home, where I am readying my apartment for saucydiva to arrive tomorrow. I'm so excited! Lot's of good art to see and food to eat. And most importantly, booze to drink. The weather has been great all week and is supposed to stay that way through at least Sat. I could live in a world of sunny and mid-60's year round (as long as there were fall colors).
I am also knee deep in SPORTS. Watching hockey now and enjoying a fantastic start to the season for the Tigers. I'm trying to talk my parents into going to a game on Tue of next week, since they will be here and the Tigers are playing the Yankees, so that would be fun.
Work has been surprisingly bearable this week which I'm sure will mean next week and the week after will be a shit show, but we'll see. I'm just trying to stay as relevant and invisible at the same time.
Hahaha, we won't be hockey rivals unless both of our teams make the Cup Finals, which is unlikely for Detroit. So you're safe from my hockey shit talking this year.
Thank you, I was very happy with myself. Although there was another girl who got her B badge as well and it made me feel so old as she is half my age. Oh well congrats to her too.
Stupid co workers, I don't know what goes through peoples minds sometimes.
I am doing okay, you enchanting marmoset! It's gloomy and rainy here, and I have switched my daily uniform from dresses to jeans and cardigans/jumpers, which is a sad tale indeed.
No rush with the emails! I know how it is. I am shocking on top of my personal inbox for once, but still owe Mar a 3000 word missive.
Aww, and we are just getting into dress/skirt weather here! I need to get more dresses, actually. Now that I have my raise I might have to spend more time on modcloth, hmm.

I'm glad you can still use your hand! It sounded like a scary fall. Also, Lana is the sweetest dog in the world.

Oh no, I think we're going to be hockey rivals at some point because I fair-weather tolerate hockey

Congrats on your netball achievement! I don't know what that means, but it does sound important, so that's super exciting.
Why is everyone having a time with crappy coworkers? Thumbs down. :(
