I am still nice and sunburnt/transitioning into peeling from the DC trip last weekend, but the extra crispiness was well worth it! angelica_rules was a lovely hostess and I had a fantastic time. It was SOOO HOT, but sunny, so I hope when I return it will be under 90 degrees ( ... )

SO GLAD THE BUGS ARE DEAD! And I'm glad you had such a nice trip! Fandom visits are the best

So aside from the terrible workshop and the hopefully wonderful baseball game any other plans for your birthday?

Fandom visits are so much fun! I need to make one east later this year.

Not many plans for the day of, aside from work and baseball. I'll be getting together with my parents, sister, and bro-in-law a week after to celebrate all of our birthdays plus Father's Day then. That's a bright spot of all the birthdays happening at once! Like Christmas in June.

So we got new printers at work this week, which is nice because one of our old printers was from the Pleistocene era. Really--the guy who serviced that printer said we were the only office that still had that model. The mildly vexing part is that documents don't actually print until you go the printer and swipe a badge. Fortunately my cubicle is right by one of the printers.

That, sadly, has been the highlight of my week. Tomorrow I'm going to a birthday dinner for two friends (why is everyone born in the first two weeks of June?) and seeing Spy. Maybe this weekend I'll finally go through my France photos. I've only been back for over a month, no rush.

Spy looks so good!

Seriously. EVERYONE was/is born in the first two weeks of June.

You have to swipe a badge? That seems like a really poor design feature!

And yes post your France photos! I want to see!

The idea behind swiping the badge is that sometimes people print documents but forget to pick them up, and this forces them to be at the printer. A lot of the work my company does contains classified information, so you're really not supposed to leave things where anyone can see them. So it makes sense but is still annoying.
