Oohh, well done, best friend! I hope your par-tay this weekend is a smashing good time (both in the figurative sense and in the euphemistic sense where you'll be getting drunk).
I hope you'll be offered something similar in pay for that added bonus of job security and working in pj's. Then again, you know what I'll do if anyone stands in your way! Just say the word and I'll chug a bottle of wine to prepare the Molotov cocktail.
<3 Thank you, Jules. This will probably be a really tough decision, so you know I will talk everyone's ear off until I figure it out. So thank you in advance.
I am POOPED currently, because I went for a super long walk and I'm sore and out of shape. But hooray for exercising? I've been trying to do something active each day this week, so I can ease myself back into shape. It's a slow start so far.
Tuesday was my birthday (to carry on the tradition of June birthdays amongst the Goddesses) and it was a delight. I ended up working, but I got a ton of birthday wishes, and some amazing gifts from stars_inthe_sky, saucydiva, and clubgetright. Then some friends headed to Detroit for a baseball game, which the Tigers won. I drank a lot and a super cute dude asked for my phone number at the bar afterwards, so here's to turning 33.
This weekend I'm going to visit my BFF in Toronto, which should be a delight. I haven't been to the T. in awhile, and the weather looks promising, so I'm sure we'll walk around a bunch and maybe do a picnic.
I just realized I turned the oven on to make dinner when I got home 20 mins ago and have yet to actually make anything. Ooops.
So proud of you and being active! That is a struggle for me; I could have gone for a walk tonight but I was so tired and whiny. Blerg. Tomorrow for sure.
And hurray for great birthdays! Hope your Toronto trip is awesome, too.
I have an important question - can you take a baby to the movie theater? Because there are like four movies I'd like to see this summer and I just don't know if that is something that is socially acceptable.
I'm still making my way through Mad Men - I just watched "The Suitcase"! Wow. And this Stan that everyone speaks of has just been introduced as a character and so far he's kind of a douche.
My in-laws left last Sunday and I am glad to be getting my house back. Though now camp training is starting up and all the staff are arriving and slowing down my precious internet. Youths.
Too bad you can't find the baby matinees that some theaters have.
The Suitcase. Ah, behold, one of the greatest episodes. I believe Elisabeth Moss and Jon Hamm both submitted that episode for their Emmy consideration that year and you need to know all the episodes before it to get the greatest of it, so they oddly lost. Emmy voters, why weren't you watching Mad Men to get it? Stan, Stan, Stan. He grows as a person, so look forward to that.
I hope to see you soon. Gosh, I hope we can find some time to meet up. My younger brother - the one getting married - texted me earlier this week and said I should pack my swimsuit, and I responded with 'Don't have one.' I think he was planning on having a impromptu gathering of people going to the wedding at the pool at the hotel or something and my mom was definitely against it. So maybe I can sneak away then. I just don't know when that is.
I bet the theater that is like 1+ hours away has baby matinees, but not the one that is closer…and if I want the baby to be quieter during the movie a shorter travel time is very important. I'll look into it though!
Yes I hope we can meet up too! My dad is trying to come up to my house on Fathers Day - that is the weekend that you are coming out, right? But yes sneak away if you can - or if you want to meet up somewhere, we could do that too!
You can bring the baby as long as you guarantee he's quiet. Since he's recently decided he's going to be a stripper...maybe? Are strippers quiet? i've never been to a strip club before.
STAN IS A DOUCHE WHICH MAKES HIS CHARACTER ARC ALL THE BETTER.
also, the youths can go to hell YOU NEED THE INTERNET.
I'm just a ball of nerves and anxiety lately. I'm not looking forward to flying (for the first time since 2004), and I'm not sleeping well. Every other night is two hours and that's it. I am trying to set a stricter schedule for myself so I made myself get up earlier on my day off and do laundry (4 loads and I still have more to do). I treated myself to a matinee of Age of Ultron, and now I have a Summer Blockbuster Headache. I liked it fine. saucydiva and I went to see Spy last Thursday and I would recommend that more. But I'm probably the last person to see Age of Ultron. I also am reading a romance novel that has ties to The Lizzie Bennet Diaries that I've been meaning to look into and, luckily, my library had it. It was also mentioned on NPR's Pop Culture Podcast this past week. It's called The Game and the Governess, and the author is Kate Noble.
Getting a haircut tomorrow, but just a trim.
Someone convince me not to get a black nail manicure for my brother's wedding. Because right now that's what I want to do.

Fact: I have never seen a Jurassic Park movie.
Followup fact: I might consider seeing this one, solely for Pratt.
