I attempted to see Inside Out earlier today, but it turns out that a baby who is calm and quiet in every other setting turns into a demon monster inside a movie theater, so I am going BACK to the theater tonight at 9pm without the family to see the movie for real. I am kind of excited to be going alone - I will get popcorn and soda and share with NO ONE.
I know today is Thursday, but it definitely feels like yesterday was the weekend for some reason. I don't know where this week went. Anyway, last sunday, ballroom_pink and ballroom_parents came by and met the maple family and we had tostadas!
This coming Sunday there are 226 children arriving here and my internet will probably get slightly better as everyone else will be busy with their jobs.
THANK YOU! But maybe send that strength to the people who will be working more directly with the kids (like the people who make questionable making out choices that I told you about earlier), I just get to watch from the sidelines this year! It's actually a really weird feeling to see camp going on but to not really be a part of it. I am excited to have a more relaxed summer schedule than usual.
Hello Just arrived in Vegas, I don't think I will be leaving my hotel room it's way too hot!! I've had such a whirlwind trip since coming across from Europe from getting pneumonia to meeting my first Pawnee Godess the wonderful Funda, she took me for a lovely dinner and to Americas whitest house :) Canada was great as well, ice skating, eating so much amazing food. I think Québec was my favourite as I went on a food tour. YUM!!! New York is a crazy place!! I loved seeing the Yankees play, my first baseball game!! Then this morning picked up a mustang and drove to the Pawnee City Hall!! So exciting :) In Vegas for a few days which will also includes my birthday, it's all a bit too much
Quebec was so lovely, I wish we had stayed in the nice part of town. We did a ghost tour as well and that was definitely a highlight, the food tour was really good I just wish we got more food!! There was one restaurant that was all self sufficient they made almost everything even the wine. Loved the baseball, I enjoy sport anyway and once I got the hang of the rules it was so much fun, I love the atmosphere of live sport. Got to see Alex Rodriguez have his 3000th hit which was pretty special
Your trip sounds unbelievable! Tell me more about this food tour in Quebec! And what are you going to be up to in Vegas? Seeing any shows or just trying your luck at the casinos?
Highlight of the week was Inside Out. Other than that my week has been nothing exciting. Work was a lot busier, which was good.
Oh wait, I do e-mail surveys, and this one had the most random questions. Including: do I own 2 tractors? Do I own a ferret? Was I born in December? The only thing I said "yes" to was eating at a restaurant in the past 12 months. The rest of the survey is about shampoo and conditioners.
I am having such a week. Had a whirlwind weekend in SF for my SIL's shotgun wedding (to her bf of 13 years, so not really, but she is pregnant so that's what I've been calling it). It was equally lovely and stressful, as there were no parts of any day that weren't accounted for. So it was lots of rushing around but the wedding was really gorgeous and the reception had lobster rolls, so fuck yeah basically.
Since returning home I've been dealing with work stuff, preparing for my second interview next week (eek! Need to start making pro/con lists in case they lowball me if I get an offer), hanging out with Housemate who has returned for a couple days, and consoling my dog during the panic attack she had last night during the thunderstorm.
Also, posting super late as (once again) I forgot it was Thursday.
I didn't know that they had lobster rolls on the west coast…I kind of thought us east coasters had exclusive rights to those delicious things. I'm glad the wedding was so lovely though! You looked amazing in your dresses!
Good luck on the next interview! Can I get a preview of your pros/cons list?
I can't get into my brother's wedding, I feel I've been recapping it every day since I got back. Tasteless cake, pleasant Maine weather, hockey centerpieces!
I had the most wonderful visit with owlsaremonsters and her family Sunday. It was a long ride there and back, but my parents were placated - for they had the vehicle - with the Inside Llewyn Davis soundtrack, Ask Me Another podcast and a very cute baby.
Flight back to O'Hare was delayed because of weather, and perhaps if it hadn't then the cute young Jonathan Franzen-type who was on my eastbound flight would have been on my flight back. He got behind me in line to inquire about the delay. Oh, what could have been!

How did you enjoy the baseball? courtknees1 found it pretty bemusing when she was here, if I remember correctly.

It really sounds like someone got drunk and wrote a fake survey and then forgot about it and accidentally sent it out in place of the real survey.
