I have finally returned to my island home it's a bit of a shock to the system, so great see my family and my cat but the weather, ITS SO COLD. It's was 46 when we arrived in Hobart, luckily I had my USA flag scarf in my bag. Now that I've returned it's time to make some decisions about my job, I've started writing down some ideas for business I've been thinking about for ages after I had a big chat with my mum, so I'm going to see how work is when I go back on Monday a go from there, so not looking forward to it. So on my birthday in Vegas a bunch of the other girls decided to get tickets to see the Chippendale, which I thought would be great fun. My friend KC (who loves magic mike and has been talking about seeing the new movie) decided that she didn't want to go, this really surprised my, she said she was not interested. I don't understand that at all, and the fact that it was my birthday and she didn't want to do something with me really annoyed me. I still don't understand why she didn't come.
Glad you made it home safely! Your shot glass acquisitions were truly a site to behold. That's such a bummer that your pal was a party pooper in your birthday
I can't believe how many I bought, it was like Christmas opening my package that we sent from New York and I'm still waiting for my sister to send the other one so there is more to come. When I get round to it I might do a Facebook album or something of them all, I definitely need a display case or something now.
It's so hard to pick a favourite part, of course driving to Pawnee City was great :) I was surprised at how much history there is in Boston, Montreal and Quebec were amazing. Wish I had more time in New York and Washington, can't stop it was all great. Seeing the Yankees and Yankee stadium was so much fun. But a highlight was definitely meeting angelica_rules. It was so great of her to meet up with me even though I was feeling pretty terrible at the time.
a highlight?!?!? awww! it was so awesome meeting you and i wish you had more time and you felt better! your entire trip sounds amazing!! don't tell me you started working already?
The main highlight of my week, month, and year occurred on Tues, when I went with friends to a Neil Young concert. It was glorious. It rained a little and was cold and windy (like July in Michigan always is, seriously what the fuck is the deal with this weather), but that did not diminish the awesomeness of seeing one of my favorite artists live.
Aside from Neil, I've finally gotten a haircut and color, which feels fab. I'm also having a party tomorrow for some friends who are in Michigan for a month before embarking on a 3-4 month journey to S. America. So lots of drinking, laughs, food, and revelry to look forward to.
I saw The Overnight last week and really liked it. I liked that everyone sitting around me was laughing out loud like I was. And Sat night I'm going to see SPICE FREAKING WORLD on the big screen at a midnight showing. What a time to be alive!
Spice world midnight showing sounds like fun! I will be spending sat arvo/night at a winter festival for my other roommates 30th birthday, friends, food and drink it will be awesome. I really hope Hobart state cinema will get The Overnight I've heard good things. I'm also seeing Blur in a couple of weeks I can't wait, I've been waiting like 15yrs!! A haircut is as good as a holiday :)
My love for Blur was sort of started through my older sister but I've always loved them. They were meant to headline a festival last year it is going to be the first time in Aus in 10 I think but they cancelled at the last minute I was devastated. I found out they were going to be here again just before I left and bought my ticket with holiday savings, there was no way I was missing out again, and if I have to travel to Sydney to see them we that's just an added bonus.
hello babes! just dropping by to say a quick hi before i paint my nails and finish packing. i'm going to new york/new jersey to visit my friend for the weekend. she is my friend from uni and was living with her man-friend there (she is my age and the guy was 50!!!) and we stopped talking for a while (i assumed it was my fault, it usually is my fault) but then she apparently broke up with the man-friend and now wants to hang out. i was kinda dreading going (10 hours on the road for a 2-day visit) but then decided to treat myself - and i also want to gossip sooooo bad. i have only the last book left of ASOUE and I'm sad because i loved them sooooooo much! work has been crazy and i have my performance review next week and i'm going to let my know, gently, that i'm looking for other employment options unless he somehow promotes me - which i highly doubt he will. i'm paid too little for doing too much work at a level i am too overqualified for.
Long drives are always worth gossiping, I'm really looking forward to seeing one of my good friends tomorrow we are going to have such a great chat :) The only thing a hate more then performance reviews is asking for things or confronting people, it was so hard to ask my boss for the time off for a holiday and I'm dreading the changes when I go back. Good luck sounds like you need to do it!
Aww crap! Forgot it was Thursday. Heading out tomorrow for New Jersey for family stuff.
Saw Magic Monday XXL Monday. Definitely recommend. No actual plot to speak of, but really is it necessary? Seriously, it's surprisingly (and delightfully) pro-women.
