Hey friends. Our wifi has been down for the past 9 days (super convenient when we're both unemployed and trying to do things like book removalists, sell cars and book flights) it's finally back this morning! Just in time for us to use it for a whole week before we move out and fly away.

I'm still working on getting my shiny new blog launched before we go. It's pretty close, I just need to ask boyfriend to do a few more formatting things and find a pretty header image.

Things I've been reading while the wifi was down: Mister Pip, Bad Feminist, and How to Travel the World on $50 a Day. Has anyone read any of these?

(It's princessgeorge, my login is weird) What's your trip itinerary, in broad strokes? Because: SO EXCITING. I would like to live vicariously through you, pls.

Hello! In broad strokes:

Sept/Oct: Canada and USA
Nov/Dec/Jan: Mexico/Cuba/rest of Central America
Feb: Colombia/Ecuador
Mar: Peru/Bolivia
Apr: Chile/Argentina
May: Perhaps more of Argentina, perhaps Brazil, then home via a week or two in New Zealand.

I'm excited/nervous/scared! I haven't done a huge amount of solo travel in countries where English isn't a primary or secondary language, so I'm hoping/planning on doing some Spanish lessons and picking up a basic grasp of the language along the way.

Hey friends. Having a really hard time with work right now but I'm dealing. It's just especially hard that I am LIT'RALLY the only librarian until Wednesday, as I have no coworkers anymore and my boss is on vacation. So I have to deal with all the annoying student issues by myself and it's really hard. Still--11 more work days until I am done with this job. I'll get there.

Going to see Foo Fighters at Wrigley Field on Saturday with my dad, cousin, and Geoff. My cousin is making us Brazilian steak beforehand, and throwingpens had it at his house last month and can attest that it is goddamn amazing. So I am excited for that, even if the rest of the weekend will be work and whatever.

Just trying to stay positive and focus on the good things I have coming up, but man, it's hard right now.

I mean, this time last year I was dealing with the bedbug nightmare, so at least this is better than that. #perspective

Hi all! This week was less busy than last week and as a result I'm not nearly as tired. We're having another heat wave, which is vexing because I thought we were done with that.

Food recommendation: Talenti's chocolate peanut butter cup gelato.

Sort of renewed my Padres season tickets for next year, sort of being that I dropped from 40 games to 20 games because the prices went up too much. Kind of a bummer because I don't get all the Saturday games now, but if there's a game I really want to see, I can just buy tickets.

I was just eating the salted caramel Talenti! Mmm, I love Talenti.

Season tickets are so expensive! Geoff usually gets a 6- or 9-pack of Cubs games and that's crazy enough on its own. But I'm glad you still get 20 games.

I always love salted caramel, but chocolate/peanut butter was calling out to me.

I've done the mini packs for the Padres a few times. They can be really good deals, but also limited sometimes in terms of where you can sit and what games you can attend. And yeah, not just the tickets are expensive, but parking and food adds up too. I don't even go to all 40 games but 20 games is a lot more doable.

Oh I love Talenti. Never had the PB Cup, but I'm a big fan of the salted caramel.

20 games is still a decent amount, but that's a bummer about the weekends. How much do your single game tickets run?

Hey

I'm actually not at work today YAY!!
I did have to go out this morning though and chose the time when it was raining and hailing to get out of the car.
My week has been pretty good considering, I applied for a new job on monday. I'm really scared about leaving my current job but for my sanity I need to and I got an email to say I have progressed to the next stage being and online assessment, so yay.
I bought tickets to Nick Offerman and Megan Mullallys show which is coming to Hobart in Jan next year. I literally can't believe they are coming down here nobody ever comes to Hobart. So exciting and something to look forward to :)
Should be a good weekend I have a netball association dinner tomorrow night, I'll be receiving my B badge so thats nice. But the best part is just getting merry with all the netball ladies its always entertaining.
